A FAMILY:

We felt privileged that you would share this corner of paradise with us. It is truly an oasis of peace and quiet that you have built here. We are already planning a long week-end during the fall.  August 2002

A COUPLE:

We had an absolutely incredible week--got to celebrate Thanksgiving and our 11th anniversary. Time to think, plan and just enjoy. We will definitely be back to this amazing place. As close to perfection as once can find--we will return! - The Wiebes, October 2002.

A HONEYMOON COUPLE:

We very much enjoyed this nature abode. At night, we had the loons and coyotes as company, and by day, osprey and eagles. The canoe ride we took on a still eve was enchanting--as were the fires, both in and outside. Solitude, peace, rest - are all synonymous with Amisk. We will never forget this hospitable lace where we spent our honeymoon. The Scandrett's, June 2003

A FAMILY:

Your beautiful lodge and awesome natural surroundings have been a very real blessing in our life as a family. Thanks for the opportunity to rest and rejuvenate under your roof. Pam, Rob and Family, July 2003

VISITORS FROM ENGLAND:

Wow! There are many known words in the  dictionary to describe this wondrous place,  but they cannot do it justice. We have never been to such an idyllic, beautiful, serene,          relaxing, exciting, invigorating, though-provoking place in all our travels. Thank you for 4 days of absolute perfection. We arrived in the afternoon of the 13th and by the           morning of the 14th, we all felt totally relaxed.  We have enjoyed swimming, fishing, canoeing, good food, campfires, comfy beds and time, just to be. Thank you for sharing your home, 'our dream home'. This will be a time which will forever be in our thoughts and in our dreams to recreate time and again.  The Coopers

REGULAR GUESTS:

Last year, the Blue Heron perched itself to  the right of the little bay throughout our stay, and a family of ducks alerted us to a lynx that walked along the waterfront, and soon to         follow--a red fox. We were fortunate enough to see the red fox a couple of times while        canoeing, as it made its way south along the shore of the lake. We will never forget the brief moment of eye contact with the lynx as she looked at us nonchalantly, before heading up the hillside.

Well, what can be said about 10 glorious days at Amiscape Woods when temperatures hover between 0 and 2 Celsius? Thank goodness for a wood stove, sauna, many mystery novels, cards and the backgammon board! We paid attention this year to the smaller birds: downy woodpeckers, dark-eye juncos, blue jays, white throated sparrows, red-breasted Nuthatch, and chickadees…Sept. 2003
